LINDA NAKAGAWA TO CONDUCT WORKSHOP IN ROCHESTER
Once again Linda Nakagawa, the director of the International 10-Piano Concert in Sacramento, California, will come to Rochester to teach our students in masterclasses on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, 2012. You will receive registration materials in January. We expect that Linda will again join us for a potluck supper on Saturday evening to meet with parents informally and to answer questions. PIANIST SIMONE DINNERSTEIN TO PERFORM IN ROCHESTER
Simone Dinnerstein has shaken the piano establishment with her astonishing recording of the Bach Goldberg Variations, and is becoming known all over the world as a result. Her performance in Rochester on April 3, 2012 in Kilbourn Hall at the Eastman School of Music will be a chance to hear her while she is on the brink of international fame. There are a limited number of student and adult tickets available in the studio. Get yours soon; they will sell out.
SUZUKI PIANO BASICS OF ROCHESTER TO HOST JAPANESE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
Teachers and students from Japan and around the U.S. and Canada will converge on Rochester August 2 - 6, 2012 for a 5-day workshop. As in the past, we are looking for host families who are willing to house visiting students. Please consider the benefits for your own child!
Our students may apply to have a lesson with a teacher from Japan during the event and/or audition to perform in a Friendship Concert with visiting students.
INFORMATION EVENING FOR PARENTS
There will be an informal meeting for parents on Monday, October 17 at 7 p.m. explaining participation in upcoming workshops, auditions, and institutes for 2012. Parents whose children have participated in prior events will be present to answer questions. Plan ahead in order to maximize your child's experience in these activities.
